WHAT CAUSES NO BOOTABLE DEVICE TO BE FOUND?

Failed hard drive

Most boot devices are a part of the computer's internal hard drive. If your hard drive breaks down or corrupts, your boot device will. The BIOS can't recognize startup software on a broken dream, so it will think there's no boot device to be found.

 

SATA/IDE cable malfunctioning

The cable that connects the hard drive to the motherboard can break or stop working. If this happens, the BIOS can't talk to the boot drive, so it will tell you it can't find any bootable devices.

Boot sector or partition table corruption

When a disc's metadata drive is broken, the BIOS might see an empty partition on the drive where the operating system is stored. If so, the BIOS thinks the boot drive is missing and gives an error message: No bootable device found.

Method 2. Perform a hard reset
