What are the types of hard drives?

The hard disk drive is mainly of three types-:

1. SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment)

SATA was introduced in 2003; SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) is the default interface for most desktop and laptop hard drives. A single drive can range from 500 GB to 16 TB and is more readily available at a lower cost than any other drive.

1. Not suitable for laptops or PC

2. Requires regular defragmentation.

2. SSD (Solid state drive )

SSD stands for a solid-state drive. All of the data in SSD is stored on non-volatile flash memory.SSD drives range from about 120 GB to 2 TB and are about 2-4 times the price of a SATA hard drive of the same size.

Advantages

1. Faster than SATA

2. More durable, especially for laptops and computers

Disadvantages

1. More expensive than SATA Drive

2. Lower-size disk or drive

3. NVME (Non-Volatile Memory Express)

Non-Volatile Memory Express, or NVMe, was released in 2013. NVMe is a type of SSD attached to a PCI Express (PCIe) slot on the main board in computers and laptops. These slots were initially designed for graphics cards, so they work incredibly fast.

1. Costly drive.

2. Available only for desktop PCs

3. It May require replacing the main board to get the full benefit.
