This page discusses taking screenshots on an Asus laptop using 8 simple methods.
A screenshot can be taken on an Asus laptop or any other computer using several methods. Some of these methods require shortcuts, while others are long-term processes. What you want to capture in your screenshot depends on your preferences. In this article, we have discussed almost all the methods for taking screenshots on the Asus laptop.
There are several ways to become an expert at taking screenshots on any laptop so that you can read about them all there. Regardless of what brand of laptop you have or what operating system it runs, we can show you how to take a screenshot.
Listed below are the simplest ways to capture a screenshot on your Asus laptop or Computer:
Screenshots are now possible within Windows 7 and above, thanks to a new tool provided by Microsoft. You can take screenshots in 4 different ways using the snipping tool.
Full-Screen Screenshot
Free Form Screenshots
Rectangular Screenshots
Active Window Screenshot
You can easily take free-form screenshots with this tool, and that's a unique feature. In other words, you can draw a rough shape, and the device will recognize the contents within the body. You can use this option if what you're trying to capture doesn't fit into a rectangle.
The following method can be used if you use Windows 7 or higher. You can take a screenshot with your keyboard by pressing the PrtScn key. If you press the PrtScn key, Windows will save the screenshot to your clipboard when you take a screenshot. After copying the screenshot into MS Paint or another graphics program, you must keep it manually. You can do so as follows:
To use the Prt Scn key, press the Print Scn key.
Run MS Paint (or another graphics program).
The screenshot can be copied and pasted by pressing Ctrl + V.
The screenshot can be edited here, and then it can be saved wherever you like.
Asus laptops let you snap a screenshot of an active window rather than taking a screenshot of the entire screen. Take a screenshot of the whole site with the command PrtScn, but instead of using PrtScn, take it with Alt + PrtScn. Next, ensure the output and screen have lovely, clean images.
Windows will save the screenshot to the clipboard when pressing Alt + PrtScn. Once pasted in MS Paint (or another graphics software program), the screenshot must be manually saved. The following steps illustrate how to take screenshots of an active window on your Asus laptop by pressing Alt + PrtScn:
A screenshot can be taken simply by clicking on the window you want to take a screenshot.
The Alt + PrtScn key combination will enable you to take a window screenshot.
If you're going to edit the screenshot, open Microsoft Paint (or any other graphics software).
Click on the screenshot, then press Ctrl + V.
The screenshot can now be edited and saved anywhere you like.
As far as I know, taking screenshots and saving them manually might seem tedious. But don't worry; Microsoft has significantly improved screenshot capabilities in Windows 10. It is possible to capture screenshots on your Asus laptop/desktop and save them directly. The process is pretty straightforward.
Win + PrtScn (Windows 10/8/8.1)
Microsoft OneDrive (Windows 10)
Here are the steps for the first method:
To use PrtScn instead of normal PrtScn, press Win + PrtScn.
You'll notice that the screen dims for half a second after pressing Win + PrtScn, indicating a screenshot has been taken.
These screenshots are available under C:\Users\User\Pictures\Screenshots.
OneDrive must be configured for screenshots taken with the standard PrtScn command to be directly saved to OneDrive using the second method. OneDrive must have permission to save screenshots for this method to work automatically. The procedure for giving OneDrive permission to keep screenshots is listed below.
To access OneDrive, select the icon in the Taskbar at the bottom right.
Choose More, and then set up OneDrive.
You can automatically save screenshots I captured from OneDrive by clicking Automatically Save to OneDrive in the Backup tab.
OneDrive will automatically save screenshots to your drive if you do this.
You can now take screenshots on your computer and save them straight to OneDrive by pressing the PrtScn key. Asus laptop/desktop users can press Alt + PrtScn to capture screenshots of the active window and save them directly to OneDrive. In the Documents folder, you will find screenshots in C:\Users\User\OneDrive\Pictures\Screenshots.
To take and save screenshots of the active window directly to your Asus laptop, you can use the Xbox game bar, which works instead of MS Paint or OneDrive. For Asus laptops/computers that have an Xbox Game Bar, you can take a screenshot by following these steps:
Point your mouse at the window you wish to screenshot and click it.
Hold Win + Alt + PrtScn together until you see a box appear.
The screenshot has been saved once the Xbox game bar appears.
After that, the screenshot can be found at the following location: C:\Users\User\Videos\Captures.
You can now snap and sketch screenshots with Windows 10's new Snip & Sketch tool. As soon as Microsoft adds this tool to its product line, it will replace the snipping device completely. With the shortcut Win + Shift + S, you can access the Snip & Sketch tool. Snipping and sketching are similar tools, but they have 4 modes:
Free Form Screenshots
Rectangular Screenshots
Active Window Screenshot
Full-Screen Screenshot
Microsoft has confirmed that the Snip & Sketch tool will replace the Snipping device in upcoming updates. This tool allows you to create screenshots that are not rectangular because of its free-form mode. It makes accessing the snip & sketch tool easier since its keyboard shortcut makes it more accessible.
Rather than attaching a keyboard to your Windows tablet and trying all of the previously mentioned methods, you can use this method instead. Press the Windows button on your Asus Windows tablet, then hold down the volume-down key to take a screenshot. You should be able to screenshot the entire screen by pressing both buttons simultaneously. However, if Snip & Sketch does not work for you, you still have the option to use Windows 10's Snip & Sketch tool.
